Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 October 2026 · Operator: Grünex (Pty) Ltd (reg. 2025/552829/07), 330 Surrey Avenue, Ferndale, Randburg 2194, South Africa (“we”, “us”) · Contact: grunex2025@outlook.com

In short: MyLegalCoach works without an account, and everything you create is saved on your device first. If you choose to sign in, your records are also backed up to your private account so you can use them on other devices. Information otherwise leaves your device only when you ask for it — running an AI check, paying, sharing or exporting a document, sending a signing link, or escalating to a lawyer. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

1. What we collect

Without an account: nothing is collected automatically. What you enter — your name, email, country, business details, agreement details, contract text, evidence (photos, files, notes), health-check results, motshelo records and reminders — is stored only on your device.

If you sign in (Back up & sync): we store your email address and the profile details you enter (name, country and, if you add them, business name, contact and bank details for invoices), and a copy of your agreements, evidence items and files, health-check results, motshelo groups and reminders, so they stay safe and appear on every device you sign in on. Only you can access them.

If you subscribe or buy a credit: we store your plan, its renewal date and payment references (amount, currency, date). For a once-off credit we store the email address you give for the receipt.

2. AI processing (Contract Health Check™ & AI Mediator)

When you run an AI Health Check or use the AI Mediator, the contract text or dispute details you submit are sent to our server and to Anthropic’s Claude AI solely to produce your result, and are not stored by us afterwards (the result is saved on your device and, if signed in, in your account). We count how many AI checks each account uses per day to enforce plan limits. The built-in check that runs without AI never leaves your device.

3. Sharing, exporting and remote signing

When you choose to share or export an agreement, report or evidence pack (PDF, text, WhatsApp, email, the system share sheet), its contents leave your device to the destination you pick. When you send a document for remote signing, the agreement text is encoded into the signing link you share so the other party can review and sign it in their browser; the signature “receipt” they return contains their typed name, signing role and timestamp. These transfers happen at your initiative and go only where you send them.

4. Verification seals & QR codes

A fully signed agreement receives a tamper-evident seal: a QR code / link that encodes the agreement title, the signatory names and roles, the seal time and a SHA-256 fingerprint — but not the document text itself. Anyone you give that code to can open the public verify page to confirm authenticity. Verification is computed in the viewer’s browser; the data sits in the link, not on our servers.

5. Lawyer escalation

If you use Smart Escalation to request a lawyer, the intake details you enter (and any agreement you choose to attach) are sent through the channel you select — typically WhatsApp or email — to the intake contact you are routed to. Only send what you’re comfortable sharing.

6. Usage analytics

To improve the product, the app records non-content usage events — for example that a template type was opened, a health check was run, or a document was requested that doesn’t exist yet. Events never contain document text, names, amounts or party details. On your device they are kept anonymously; when you are signed in they are also stored with your account ID.

7. Service providers

We use these providers to run MyLegalCoach, each only for the purpose shown:

Some of these providers process data outside South Africa and Botswana. We use them under agreements that require them to protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA and the Botswana Data Protection Act.

8. What we do NOT do

9. Payments

Plans and once-off credits are sold on our website (mylegalcoach.grunexit.com) and paid by card through Paystack, in South African rand. The MyLegalCoach phone apps do not sell anything; a plan bought on the website works in the apps once you sign in with the same email. You can change your card or cancel your subscription at any time from the app on the web.

10. Data retention and deletion

11. Children

MyLegalCoach is intended for users 18 years and older.

12. Your rights (POPIA / Botswana Data Protection Act)

You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal information, and to object to its processing. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, or to complain, contact us at grunex2025@outlook.com. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or the Information and Data Protection Commission (Botswana).

13. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.

14. Disclaimer

MyLegalCoach provides self-help legal information and document tools. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
